General Delivery Channels

Authors list

The delivery channels or publishing formats enabled on iPC have been explained below. Each specifies how a product published in the given format can be accessed by the end user.


Online Reader

When the publisher provides online reader option on iPublishCentrals’ backend, the user is able to read an ebook(in PDF format) directly from the portal using any browser (like IE, Firefox, etc.) while connected to the internet on PC/Mac or Laptop. The device used by the reader must support flash.


iOffline  

When Offline reading is enabled, the user will be able to read the ebook using the iPublishCentral reader application, without being connected to the internet, on their desktops(PC/Mac) or laptops. For enabling this, the user has to download and install iPublishCentral reader application from the eBook site. Upon login to this application, all titles to which the user has subscribed are listed in the applications bookshelf. The users will then be able to access the eBooks on the reader.


Offline (Desktop & Devices)

When Offline (Desktop & Devices) reader is enabled, the user will be able to download the PDF format of the ebook from the portal individually on to iPublishCentral application. This book will remain on the users’ desktop or device for that login session. There will be a limit set for the number of times a book can be downloaded. User can access the book on desktop, laptop, iPad and Android device. This is also referred as CP(Content Protected) download.


Online Reader (ePub)

When Online Reader (ePub) option is enabled, the user will be able to read an ePub version of the book online. The device that the user is using need not support flash. Users can access these eBook from desktop, laptop or iPad.


iPad (ePub)

When iPad (ePub) reader option is enabled, the will be able to read the book using a publisher branded iPad application. The user must install the publisher branded application on the device (iPad). The books to which the user has subscribed will be available on the bookshelf. The user can then download and read the books on his iPad from the iPad app.


Offline ePub (devices)

When Offline ePub (Devices) reader option is enabled, the user will able to download and read the book using the iPublishCentral reader application. For enabling this, the user has to download and install iPublishCentral reader application from the portal(PC/Mac), iTunes Store or Google Play store. Upon login to this application, all titles to which the user has subscribed are listed in the applications bookshelf. The user can access the books on his iPad from this location.


 

iPad

When iPad (ePub) reader option is enabled, users will be able to read the book using a publisher branded iPad application. The user must install the publisher branded application on the device (iPad/Android). The books to which the user has subscribed will be available on the bookshelf. The user can then download and read the books on his iPad/Android Tablet from the iPad/Android app.
