How To Use - eBook

The Sesame Street eBook Reader displays eBook content in your Internet browser just like it appears in a printed book. Let’s look at how you can use the Reader to control your reading experience.

 

Go to your Bookshelf and click on the "Read" button under the eBook you want to read. Once the eBook loads in the Reader, it will look like this:

  1. Control Panel
  2. The eBook
  3. Page Navigation Controls
  4. Page Flip
  5. Page Numbers

 

Now, let's look at the Control Panel. The Control Panel consists of controls for Play/PauseStopZoom In/Zoom OutFull Screen/Normal ScreenPrint,
My Bookshelf and Play Mode.
Play Button The "Play" button sets the page flip in the Reader to Auto
mode. This means that the pages of the eBook will flip
automatically after a set time.
Pause Button Once you’ve clicked on "Play," the button toggles to become
"Pause". This "Pause" button can be used at any time to
pause the auto reading.
Stop Button If you want to start over at any time during your reading, click
on the "Stop" button. This will take you to the cover page
(first page) of the eBook.
Zoom In Button When you click on the "Zoom In" button, you can zoom into the
eBook to look more closely at the details on the page.
Zoom Out Button Once you’ve clicked on "Zoom In," the button toggles to
become "Zoom Out". The "Zoom Out" button can be used at
any time to zoom out and view the page normally.
Full Screen Button When you click on the "Full Screen" button, you can view the
eBook in full screen in your Internet browser.
Full Screen Mode In full screen mode, you get 100% of your screen area to view
your eBook. The Control Panel appears only when you mouse
over the top part of the screen.
Normal Screen Button When you’re in full screen mode the "Full Screen" mode button
toggles to become the "Normal Screen" button. Click on this
button to exit full screen mode.
Print Button The "Print" button allows you to print the current eBook page
you are viewing.

When you click on the "Print" button, a Print Options pop-up
appears. Here, you can choose to print one page per sheet
or two pages per sheet.
My Bookshelf Button Clicking on "My Bookshelf" takes you back to your Bookshelf,
where all your eBooks are kept.
Play Mode Each time you open an eBook, you are shown a pop-up box
where you can select the "Play Mode" for the eBook. This
sets your preference for how the pages will turn. You can 
choose to turn the pages automatically or manually.

After you set your "Play Mode" preference, click on the green"Play" button to start reading. 

In "Auto Play" mode, the pages will turn automatically as
soon as you start reading the eBook. In "Manual Play" mode, 
after clicking on the green "Play" button to begin, click on the green "Next" button to turn the pages yourself. Your "Play Mode"preference will be stored in the Reader and applied across all the eBooks in your bookshelf. You can change this 
preference at any time by clicking on the "Play Mode" button
in the Control Panel.

If you don't want to see the "Play Mode" option every time you
open an eBook, you can hide it by selecting the option, 
"Do not show this again."
